Arte povera, Pistoletto's<br>work featured in Bosnia

(18 September 2018) The Italian Embassy in Sarajevo announces that the inauguration of the Italian artist and one of the protagonists of the Italian Arte Povera movement of the Sixties, Michelangelo Pistoletto's "Luogo di Raccoglimento Multireligioso e Laico" will be held on September 26th at 19:00 at the History Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The piece, donated to the City of Sarajevo on the occasion of his last visit in June last year, represents an ideal meeting place and coexistence between religions and the secular world, an extremely relevant subject in a multicultural and multireligious context as that of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The event was organised by the Italian Embassy in collaboration with the Ministry of Civil Affairs, the Municipality of Sarajevo, the Ars Aevi Museum of Contemporary Art, to which over twenty years ago Pistoletto donated the first work of the collection, UNESCO, and the Museum of History of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where the work will be installed.
