Historical identity of the italian language,<br>a conference held by Claudio Marazzini

(28 September 2018) The conference held by Prof. Claudio Marazzini, President of the Accademia della Crusca - the most authoritative institution dedicated to the study and protection of the Italian language - will be held on October 2nd at 18:15 at the University of Geneva. The conference - organised in collaboration with the Italian Institute of Culture in Zurich - will focus on the historical identity of Italian, its strengths, fragility, and on its delicate future in a globalised world. The conference inaugurates a series of six events titled "The language of angels" that will reflect on the present, past, and  future of Italian. Claudio Marazzini teaches Italian Linguistics at the University of Eastern Piedmont (Vercelli), and since May 2014 he is president of the Accademia della Crusca. Author of numerous essays, books, and scientific articles dedicated to Italian and its history, he collaborates with various newspapers. He has just published a book, militant in nature: "Italian is wonderful. How and why we must save our language" Milan, Rizzoli, 2018.
