Opening concert <br> of The Brikcius Festival

(8 November 2018) The benefit concert of the cellist František Brikcius, who will play compositions by Domenico Gabrielli, Johann Sebastian Bach, Bedřich Smetana, Eugen Suchoň, Zdeněk Fibich and Irena Kosíková will be held on November 14th at the Italian Institute of Culture in Prague. The concert takes place in the framework of the Brikcius Festival. Admission is free and the proceeds will be donated to the organization Médecins sans Frontières. This year, the Brikcius Festival commemorates the 100th anniversary of the birth of the Czech Republic and takes place within the framework of the International Daniel Pearl World Music Days. Master František Brikcius studied the cello at the Faculty of Music of the Academy of Performing Arts (JAMU) in Brno and specialised in Great Britain and Japan. He has an intense concert activity in the Czech Republic and abroad, both as a soloist and in a duo with his sister Anna Brikciusová, also a cellist. Master Brikcius plays a "George Kriwalski" cello built in 1904.
