From Monday to Friday, BigItalyFocus provides an information overview, ranged from development aid to made in Italy
(12 November 2018) The Italian Embassy in Dakar, as part of its efforts to promote Italian culture, presented the programme of the 18th Week of Italian Language in the World. Also this year, thanks to the success of the last edition, the Embassy will organize four film screenings at the open-air "Empire" cinema, located in the heart of the Medina (17, Avenue Malick Sy, in front of the CBAO). The film screenings will start on Tuesday, November 13th at 19:30 ("Ever Been to the Moon?" by Paolo Genovese) and will continue throughout the week: Wednesday, November 14th at 19.30: ("The Chair of Happiness" by Carlo Mazzacurati); Saturday, November 17th at 19.30 ("On the Tiger's Back" by Carlo Mazzacurati); Sunday, November 18th at 19.30 (private screening, "The Great War" by Mario Monicelli). The films will be subtitled in French. Finally, at the "Empire" cinema, there will be an exhibition "Italian on the Web, Italian Networks" whose objective is to show the public the evolution of the Italian language in the age of social media, paying particular attention to the growing importance of learning Italian which is the fourth most studied language in the world.
