They are 25, 30, and 33 years old and have a future as wine tasters. Italian wines, in particular. They are Clara Zorita, Mateo García, and Claudia Gozalbes from Madrid. They are the winners of the second edition of the young sommelier competition, organised by the Italian Embassy in Spain - in collaboration with the Italian Agency for Foreign Trade (ICE), the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Spain (CCIS), the International School of Italian Cuisine ALMA, the Spanish Sommelier Union (UEC) and the Spanish Chamber of Commerce of Madrid - as part of the "Week of Italian cuisine". The three winners were selected from 58 competitors, 30 of whom had the opportunity to challenge each other before a jury composed by Ambassador Stefano Sannino, ALMA Wine Academy Coordinator Ciro Fontanesi, and UEC President Fernando Gurucharri. After a few months, the three young sommeliers will leave for a training trip to Italy at the ALMA school, in Colorno in the province of Parma, which will then take them to visit different Italian regions to learn about wine cellars, wine bars, and emblematic productions of our country.
