Ludus Gravis in concert <br> for Italian Madrid sound

(27 march 2019) Italian Sound Madrid 2019 will host the a double bass ensemble Ludus Gravis concert at the Italian Cultural Institute of Madrid on April 11th as part of the New Notes series. Since its debut in 2010, it has represented an authentic novelty in the contemporary music scene, attracting the attention of composers who have marked the history of music, receiving invitations from many of the most prestigious European music festivals. Hans Werner Henze, Sofia Gubaidulina, Terry Riley, Gavin Bryars, Julio Estrada, Stefano Scodanibbio, Fabio Cifariello Ciardi, Luigi Ceccarelli, Nicola Sani, Filippo Perocco, Edgar Alandia, Tonino Battista (to name a few) have all writtenn for the Ludus Gravis Ensemble.  The group was established after the encounter between Stefano Scodanibbio and Daniele Roccato. Scodanibbio (1956 - 2012) was the most influential and innovative double bass player of the 20th century.  Roccato, current soloist and musical director, is considered one of the major current bass players.
