(Mar. 20) - Ecopetrol, the largest Colombian oil company, entrusted to build four hydro-cracking reactors of 1000 tons each to Walter Tosto Group, for a 3,386 million dollars expansion plan of the Barrancabermeja refinery. The contract is worth 37 million dollars. The Italian company world leader in large boiler plants for Oil & Gas has received another assignment for 9 million euros. In Coatzacoalcos, Walter Tosto will bring its equipment required for ETILENO XXI, a project promoted by JV Braskem, a leading Brazilian petrochemical company, and IDESA, at the top of the Mexican petrochemical industry, which together have pledged a total investment of 2,5 billion dollar. The two commissions strengthen the company's presence in the South America, where the Group has made its entry in 2010 with two orders of the Brazilian Petrobras and the Colombian Reficar. Luca Tosto, CEO of the group, confirms: "The partnership with Ecopetrol, one of the most important companies in South America, strengthens our relations with major global End Users, such as Chevron, BP, ExxonMobil, Shell, Total, Petrobras, while giving greater visibility to the Italian industry working in Oil & Gas. TOSTO GROUP: TRAINING AND TECHNOLOGY
In Russia, the state company Rosneft has launched a project to modernize four of its seven refineries. Walter Tosto equipment, amounting to over 30 million euros, will be installed in the plants of Angarsk, Kuibyshevsk, NovoKuibyshevsk and Achinsk. To support the expansion in Eastern Europe, the Walter Tosto has acquired the Fecne Nuclear Components in Bucharest. The acquisition has required an initial outlay of 9 million euros, to which to be added the 30 million that will go to technology and training in the next five years. The nuclear industry will catalyze the efforts fo the group, that, through participation to the international project ITER. In this field, the company spent 15 of the 30 million investment in R & D already scheduled for 2012, as well as 20 young engineers who are participating the second Master "Pressure Process Equipment: Design and Manufacturing", organized together with the Faculty of Engineering of University of L'Aquila. Fifteen members of the first edition have already been hired by the company. In the short term, as expected, there will be 500 employees, and the 2012 revenues will reach 85 million euros.
