(Jul. 10) – Great expectations for Federico Zampaglione’s new movie in the United Kingdom. “Tulpa”, third film by the Italian singer-songwriter and director will be presented and screened for the very first time on August 25th at the 12nd edition of the Frightfest, to be held in London from August 23rd to 27 at the Empire Cinema in Leicester Square. Zampaglione will take part to the premiere and Maestro director Dario Argento will also participate in the event. The last movie of Zampaglione – Shadow – has gained a great public and critical success and has been the Italian horror movie most distributed abroad in the last ten years. “It’s an honor and a big responsibility to be in London,” says director Zampaglione. “The Italian Horror is coming back and I am proud to represent my country.” (Gil/Peg)

“Lisa Boeri is the ultimate driven professional at the top of her corporate game. But by night Lisa frequents the notorious Club Tulpa, owned by a mysterious Tibetan guru. There, unshackled from repression and guilt, Lisa will do anything with any stranger to attain a higher Zen consciousness. Suddenly her lovers start getting murdered in shocking ways. Lisa can’t go to the police because of the scandal impacting on her day job. So she tries to unmask the anonymous assassin herself with truly nightmare consequences”. This is the plot of “Tulpa”, shot in Rome and played by Claudia Gerini, Michele Placido, Ivan Franek, Michela Cescon, Crisula Stafida e Nuot Arquit, also protagonist in “Shadow”. The story is by Zampaglione himself and Dardano Sacchetti, author for directors such as Dario Argento, Mario e Lamberto Bava, Lucio Fulci, Umberto Lenzi, Stelvio Massi. The script is by Zampaglione and Giacomo Gensini, and the soundtrack is scored by the Alvarius, band of which Zampaglione plays with his brother Francesco and Andrea Moscianese. The movie is produced by IDF – Italian Dream Factory, company of Italian actress Maria Grazia Cucinotta.
