Italy-Zambia / training project for dispute resolution at Codeway Expo

Lusaka - A potentially revolutionary signature to facilitate Italy-Africa trade relations. A significant agreement was just signed at Codeway Expo, the event organized by Fiera Roma and Internationalia dedicated to international cooperation, held from May 15 to 17 at Fiera Roma. The agreement promotes alternative dispute resolution mechanisms to local courts in Zambia. The Italian Arbitration Association, an association of eminent scholars founded in 1958 by President Antonio Segni, has concluded an Addendum to the Memorandum already signed last November with the Lusaka International Arbitration Centre, in the presence of Zambian President Hichilema. The AIA will prepare a training program for the Arbitration Centre officials and Zambian public officials. “We are proud,” commented Maria Beatrice Deli, AIA’s Secretary General, “to formalize this operation, the result of valuable relationships of mutual trust that have required time and care. We hope to implement it by the end of the year and to extend the project to other African countries, all to the benefit of bilateral trade relations. Resolving disputes through mediation and arbitration is fundamental for promoting investments and ensuring the area’s security and stability. It guarantees faster processes, greater flexibility, more attention to the parties’ needs, and eases the burden on the ordinary justice system.” (9colonne)
