Italian technology exports to the U.S. soar: $6.7 billion in 2023

“Italy is not just synonymous with food, fashion, and furniture: Made in Italy is asserting itself as a global leader in the most advanced technological sectors, such as electronics, life sciences, biotechnology, aerospace, and beyond. In 2023, these industries achieved exports to the U.S. worth $6.7 billion, with a 68% growth in the first eight months of 2024. These figures demonstrate our companies’ ability to compete in the most strategic international markets. ICE supports this sector, in line with the objectives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and consistent with the principles of growth diplomacy.”

This was stated by Matteo Zoppas, president of ICE (Italian Trade Agency), at the inauguration of CES (Consumer Electronics Show), the world’s largest electronics and technology trade fair, running in Las Vegas until January 10. ICE is present at the event in the “Arena Italia” space with a delegation of Italian companies from the most innovative sectors.

“Our goal in this context,” Zoppas added, “is to promote the technological excellence of Made in Italy and to strengthen Italy’s presence in global markets, offering our companies new opportunities for expansion and value creation by connecting them with their potential partners. At the same time,” he continued, “Italy continues to attract foreign investments thanks to joint efforts with the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy, through nearly 90 ICE offices abroad and the diplomatic network, positioning itself as a prime destination for international capital in the fields of innovation and sustainability. We are ready to reinforce our country’s position as a global technological leader, while never losing sight of the unique bond between tradition and innovation that makes Made in Italy a unique model worldwide.”
