More than 250,000 winter sports enthusiasts chose to spend their holidays in Friuli Venezia Giulia's six ski areas. This unprecedented figure represents a remarkable 34% increase compared to last year, according to Sergio Emidio Bini, Regional Councillor for Economic Activities and Tourism.
Between December 23 and January 6, 250,597 first entries were recorded at the ski lifts managed by PromoTurismoFVG across the region's six ski resorts: Forni di Sopra-Sauris, Piancavallo, Ravascletto-Zoncolan, Sappada-Forni Avoltri, Sella Nevea, and Tarvisio. This compares to 187,075 during the same period of the previous winter season.
The slopes welcomed skiers not only from nearby Veneto but also from Slovenia, Croatia, Austria, Germany, Poland, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic, in addition to many local residents.
Councillor Bini highlighted that this success stems from years of strategic planning and investment led by the Region and PromoTurismoFVG.
“The pricing policy for ski passes, which are the most competitive in the entire Alpine arc, combined with family-friendly initiatives offering promotions and discounts for children and young skiers, are proving to be winning strategies," said Bini. "Not to mention the top-notch quality of our slopes.”
