Italy and Africa join forces to prepare youth for the future of work

Today, at the Aldo Moro Hall of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, a roundtable titled “Building Skills to Prepare Young People in Africa for the Future of Work – The Role of the Private Sector” will be held. The event, organized by the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) in collaboration with Confindustria, CNA, and Confcooperative, is part of the Italy Africa Business Week, hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The aim is to promote the development of educational systems and training pathways capable of preparing young Africans for the challenges of the global labor market.

“The African human capital represents an extraordinary opportunity for the sustainable development of the continent,” said Laura Frigenti, CEO of GPE. “Through collaboration with the Italian private sector, we can transform education into a powerful tool for change, ensuring that young people are ready to face the challenges and opportunities of the future.”

Giuseppe Vivace, National Director of ECIPA for CNA, agrees: “At CNA, we are convinced that investing in vocational training is the key to a prosperous future. The collaboration between public and private institutions allows the creation of training pathways that respond to the real needs of local communities.”

“The cooperative model values the individual,” commented Anna Manca, Vice President of Confcooperative, “and is a lever for social empowerment as well as economic growth. Being sustainable and combating inequalities of people and territories, starting with young people and women, are indeed objectives that are pursued starting from education and skills strengthening, both in Italy and worldwide.”
