The ‘Doctorate in Philosophy: Forms and History of Philosophical Knowledge at the University of Salento’, in consortium with the Sorbonne Université in Paris and the University of Cologne, is organising a doctoral session on modern philosophy until 30 January in the Chirico Pavilion of the Olivetan Monastery. The session is one of the events of the doctoral course 2024/2025, dedicated to the theme ‘Object / Objet / Objekt’. Lectures, doctoral thesis discussions and presentations of works will take place over the course of the days. The Modern Philosophy session will be followed in the coming months by the session co-organised with the Departmental Centre for Descartes Studies ‘Ettore Lojacono’, the Medieval Philosophy session in collaboration with CETEFIL and, finally, the concluding session dedicated to Contemporary Philosophy, with the participation of leading international scholars in their respective fields of research. The interdisciplinary workshop dedicated to Folkbiology, a highlight of the four-day event, included the presentation of research by PhD students holding ‘green’ and ‘public administration’ scholarships, which are the innovative curricula of the PhD programme. The event is therefore part of the university's initiatives geared towards achieving the strategic objectives relating to sustainability and the Third Mission.
