The only Italian ingredient at Highgrove: Farchioni’s olive oil shines at Royal Table

The “Il Casolare” extra virgin olive oil by Farchioni Olii Spa was the only Italian product served at King Charles III’s table during an exclusive dinner hosted at his Highgrove residence in the English countryside of Gloucestershire. The prestigious event was organized to celebrate Slow Food and Slow Fashion.

The dinner, entrusted by the British Crown to chef Francesco Mazzei of Corinthia Hotel London, aimed to create a fully Italian menu using only locally sourced ingredients from the United Kingdom. The mission was successfully accomplished—except for one indispensable ingredient: extra virgin olive oil. Since no local alternative was available, the choice naturally fell on Farchioni.

Produced in Gualdo Cattaneo, in the province of Perugia, Il Casolare was the only imported olive oil for the occasion, making Umbria the only Italian region officially represented at the king’s table.

"Our family is honored to bring Umbria and the excellence of Italian agri-food products to King Charles III’s table," said Giampaolo Farchioni, owner and manager of the family-run company. "Our connection with the UK is long-standing: here, Il Casolare is a true bestseller, appreciated for the quality and authenticity we deliver in every bottle."
