Tirana – The delegation of the international association Verbumlandiart, currently making stops in Bitola, Ohrid, and Skopje (North Macedonia), will be in Tirana on May 14. The delegation includes President Regina Resta, poet and literary critic; Maria Pia Turiello, President of the Scientific Committee and forensic criminologist; Vice President Goffredo Palmerini, journalist and writer; Mirella Cristina, lawyer and former member of Parliament; and Mirjana Dobrilla, poet and translator. They will be received at the Italian Embassy to present Ambassador Marco Alberti with the goals of their mission and their commitments in the Albanian capital, as well as the literary and artistic activities that Verbumlandiart has long carried out in partnership with cultural associations in Albania and the Balkans (Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro, and North Macedonia).
Later, the delegation will take part in the conference “The Presence of Contemporary Italian and International Literature in the Literary and Cultural Newspaper Nacional”, organized by the publishing house Nacional and held at the conference hall of the Oxford Hotel in Tirana. The conference aims to shed light on the influence, contributions, and wide resonance of contemporary Italian and international literature within one of the most important platforms of Albanian culture and literature: the Nacional literary and cultural newspaper.
The representatives of the Salento-based cultural association Verbumlandiart will be guests of honor at the event, which will also feature experts such as Prof. Gjovalin Shkurtaj, scholar of Arbëreshë culture, Italian literature translator and academic; Prof. Klara Kodra, poet, scholar of Arbëreshë literature, translator of Italian literature, and academic; Prof. Anton Papleka, poet, translator of international literature, scholar; and Dr. Mujë Buçpapaj, poet, translator, literature scholar and director of both the publishing house and Nacional newspaper.
Writers, poets, scholars, and translators from Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia, and Montenegro will also participate. (9colonne)
