Techint Group: Tenova is shopping in Germany

(July 18) Tenova SpA is expanding its secondary metallurgy business through the acquisition of Technometal GmbH, a German company based in Duisburg operating worldwide in the steel industry. Technometal is specialized in the steel production and refining with expertise in design, supply, start-up, training and consulting, and vacuum treatments. One of Technometal’s strengths is the great flexibility that results in the design and supply of industrial plants of different sizes, with capacities ranging from 5 and 300 tons of steel. These skills allow Tenova to integrate and expand its offer in the field of secondary metallurgy with treatment facilities for the integral cycle production of steel. Alberto Iperti, CEO of Tenova, commented: "With this acquisition, Tenova broadens the range in the process of steel production, and confirms its interest in the field of secondary metallurgy with three activity centers: Tenova Melt Shops in Italy, Tenova Core in the United States, and Tenova Technometal in Germany." The president of Techint Group, Gianfelice Rocca, tracks Tenova’s strategic plan: "The acquisition of Technometal confirms our major industrial development on an international scale. Over the past five years Tenova has grown globally from 3,000 to 5,000 employees, and this increase was supported by other important acquisitions. In particular in the last two years we have expanded in Canada (Nova Analytical Systems), South Africa (Bateman), South Korea (Envita), Germany (MTH)."
