Lazio, Cori's extra virgin olive oil star in Belgium

(May 3, 2017) The extra virgin olive oil of Cori (Latina, Lazio) was the focus of the conference "EVOLUTION: Past, Present and Future of Olive plantation", organized last weekend at the Italian Institute of Culture of Brussels. During the seminar the talk was about the historical and legendary origins of the olive tree, its cultivation and transformation and the organoleptic characteristics typical of a good extra virgin olive oil. Not only theory, but also guided and informed tastings directed at the international audience present. Ambassador to Belgium of "Made in Cori" extra virgin olive oil was Catullo Manciocchi, a professional taster of Capol, welcomed by IIC Paolo Grossi's director. The olive grower has represented the newly started "Evoocori" company, a group of small producers who is aiming for excellence. The Italian Institute of Culture of Brussels, in its efforts to promote and disseminate Italian language and culture in Belgium, has set up a showcase for Cori's olive cultivation and for the promotion of its extra virgin olive oil. It is a territory that has always been linked to the growth and the culture of olive and its products: with its 265,000 olive trees on an olive grove of 1,732 hectares, which involves more than 1,000 producers, Cori is one of the most important olives centers of Province of Latina. ABOUT / THE BELGIAN MARKET

At its first overseas release, "Evoocori" has been able to face the Belgian market, one of the leading European importers of Italian extra virgin olive oil. Local demand has broad growth margins, albeit in the niche of consumers who are more "educated" to quality.
