From Monday to Friday, BigItalyFocus provides an information overview, ranged from development aid to made in Italy
The Italian Embassy in South Africa and the South African Ministry of Science and Technology, in collaboration with the Inter-University Consortium for Data Intensive Astronomy, INAF (National Institute of Astrophysics), and SARAO (South African Radio Astronomical Observatory), are organising the workshop "Enhancing the collaboration in radio-astronomy between Italy and South Africa" which will be held in Pretoria on October 24th and 25th. The meeting will be divided in four sessions: SKA Observations and Very Long Baseline Interferometry - links between the African VLBI Network and the Italian VLBI Network, VLBI with MeerKAT; SKA challenges - big data and cloud computing; big data and data analytics; artificial intelligence for radio astronomy; industrial collaborations; joint initiatives for training and development of human capital in radio astronomy.
