On the occasion of Fitur, the fair in Madrid that opens the season of international exhibitions dedicated to the tourism sector, the Italian Embassy in Spain hosted the event "Cremona meets Madrid", in collaboration with the Municipality of Cremona as part of the "Wonderfood & Wine" initiative of the Lombardy Region and Unioncamere for the promotion of the Lombardy food and wine. At the Palace of Amboage, home of the Italian Embassy, tourism sector operators and representatives of Spanish cultural institutions attended the exhibition of the Stradivari ex Scotland violin University 1734 in Madrid from the Cremona Violin Museum and showcased by violinist Lena Yokoyama. The event allowed for the appreciation of Cremona's excellence, starting from the ancient tradition of the violin shops specialised in the production of stringed instruments - an art that the Italian city brought to Fitur at the stand set up by ENIT - National Tourism Agency, with the master violinmaker Abraham Díaz who showed the public the secrets of the violin-making tradition of Cremona, the birthplace of Antonio Stradivari.
