(19 march 2019) The impact on metropolises that are cyclically involved in major initiatives - Expox, Olympics, and Big Events - is an element that in recent years has been the subject of in-depth reflections. The sustainability, reconversion or prospects for future use of the works conceived for these events are challenging themes for designing or re-designing contemporary cities: the case of post-Expo 2015 Milan or Tokyo in the years that will follow the Olympic Games 2020 are emblematic cases of these issues.  At a conference to be held on March 20 at 18:30 at the Italian Cultural Institute in Tokyo, architects Susanna Tradati and Atsushi Kitagawara, who share the experience of the Milan Expo 2015 and, with their international experiences, will analyse the state of the art in urban design. The evening will be concluded by Alberto Mina, who will present the MIND project, aimed at redeveloping the Expo Milano 2015 site.  The conference was organised as part of the events planned for the third edition of the Italian Design Day.
