Gormiti, the Italian toys ready for the worldwide market

(Aug. 2) - After being one the most popular toys in Italy, the Gormiti are ready to be discovered by children from all over the world. The Italian group Mondo TV has concluded a multi-territory deal with Turner Broadcasting, a subsidiary of Time Warner, for the broadcast rights to their new animated TV series "Gormiti" in over 130 countries across Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). The series is co-produced by Mondo TV and Giochi Preziosi - the toy company founded by Enrico Preziosi in 1978 - and screenplays are written by the leading action adventure writing team U.S. based "Man of Action". Turner Broadcasting has additionally secured licensing and merchandising rights for the series in EMEA (excluding Italy, San Marino, Vatican City and France), while Mondo TV Consumer Products will act as sub-agent in the territories of Russia, Eastern Europe, Ex-Yugoslavia, Greece, Spain and Portugal. World TV Consumer Products, a subsidiary of World Television, will act as sub-distributor of Turner in Russia and Eastern Europe, the former Yugoslavia, Greece, Spain and Portugal. The series will debut this year on Boing Turner Broadcasting networks in Italy and Spain and in 2013 will land abroad on Cartoon Network. (red)

GORMITI, BORN FROM AN IDEA OF LEANDRO CONSUMI
The Gormiti have been conceived by Leandro Consumi, designed by Gianfranco Enrietto and distributed in Italy by Giochi Preziosi and on newsstands by Grani & Partners. According to the reconstruction made Consumi, the Gormiti are warriors from the Island of Gorm and are divided into two great armies, one that supports the good, the other on the evil. A mythology that recalls of the Lord of the Rings. Born initially as toys sold at newsstands, the Gormiti soon found a privileged place in toy stores. The brand now includes figurines, dedicated magazines, DVDs and even a theatrical play. And, of course, the cartoon.
