Italian culinary festival draws 25,000 visitors in La Plata

La Plata – Over 25,000 people took part in two vibrant days of Italian food, music, and culture during the Festival of Italian Gastronomy, held on November 8 and 9 at Alberti Park as part of the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World.
Organized by the Italy–Argentina Territorial Coordination Agency (Actia) together with members of the Italy–Argentina Productive, Tourism, and Cultural Corridor, the festival once again celebrated the deep Italian roots that shape La Plata’s identity.
“This weekend brought together families and friends who rediscovered the Italian heritage that has defined us for generations,” said Nicolás Moretti, President of the Festival’s Executive Committee.
The event featured live performances, culinary workshops, and traditional food stalls. Chef David Veltri led Italian cooking classes throughout the weekend, while institutions such as the Italian Academy of Gastronomy (Perugia), A Tavola con lo Chef Academy (Rome), IDIMED, and Puglia Promozione provided support, underscoring their commitment to strengthening cultural and gastronomic ties between Italy and Argentina.
