Bergamo University expands global collaboration

Beijing – The University of Bergamo is currently on an institutional and scientific mission in China, running until November 15, with stops in Shanghai and Beijing as part of the China-Italy Science, Technology & Innovation Week and the China-Italy University Rectors Forum. The delegation is led by Rector Sergio Cavalieri and includes Vice-Rector for International Relations Flaminia Nicora, Department Directors Giuseppe Franchini and Gianluca D’Urso, Stefano Ierace from the Intellimech Consortium, and Sara Bocchi from the Department of Management, Information and Production Engineering. Key visits included Shanghai Dianji University, where potential areas of collaboration were discussed, Tongji Technology Park, the Jiading Campus of Tongji University, and the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Beijing, where the first UniBg Alumni Network meeting in China was held. The initiative, organized with Luberg, aims to strengthen the international community of alumni and foster new collaborations between Italian and Chinese universities and businesses. On November 13, Rector Cavalieri will speak at the bilateral Chinese-Italian Rectors Forum, and on November 14, he will be awarded the title of Distinguished Visiting Professor at Tsinghua University, in recognition of the University of Bergamo’s contributions to international research. Additional meetings will include the Beijing University of Technology Shan-He-Wan-Gu Innovation Zone and a CI-LAM (China-Italy Joint Laboratory on Advanced Manufacturing) event focused on the automotive sector and university-industry cooperation.
