Geneva – Professor Maria Gabriella Ceravolo, from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery at the Polytechnic University of Marche, has been awarded the prestigious Sidney Licht Award during the 19th Congress of the International Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (ISPRM).
The Sidney Licht Lectureship Award, established in honor of ISPRM founder Sidney Licht, recognizes physiatrists who have made outstanding contributions to the field of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine internationally. Professor Ceravolo was praised for her leadership and for advancing research, particularly her lecture on Technology-Aided Rehabilitation: Lessons Learned and Future Directions.
“This lecture reflects the work of my interdisciplinary team—including physiatrists, biomedical engineers, physiotherapists, speech therapists, neuropsychomotor specialists, and graduates in motor sciences—investigating the role of technology in functional recovery and motor relearning after brain injury,” Ceravolo said.
