Piedmont allocates €27 million to boost SME internationalization

Turin – The Regional Council of Piedmont, on the proposal of Councillor Andrea Tronzano, has approved a new measure supporting the internationalization of Piedmontese SMEs through Integrated Supply Chain Projects for 2026-2029. The program has a total budget of over €27 million and aims to strengthen SMEs’ presence in foreign markets by promoting strategic supply chain collaborations and coordinated international outreach.
Key sectors include automotive & transportation, aerospace, cleantech & green building, textiles and luxury goods, agri-food and agritech, microelectronics and automation, health and wellness, and ICT, with the possibility of extending support to other high-potential industries.
Between 2024 and 2025, the projects facilitated 227 internationalization activities, involving over 3,100 Piedmontese companies. In 2025 alone, 117 initiatives engaged nearly 1,600 businesses through international trade fairs, business conventions, and B2B workshops.
“Through this initiative,” said President Alberto Cirio and Councillor Andrea Tronzano, “Piedmont strengthens its ability to compete globally. We focus on companies that innovate, collaborate, and organize in supply chains. Export growth relies on presenting a united system, highlighting excellence, know-how, and industrial networks.”
Activities include systemic actions (networking, training, support for aggregation) and investment actions (trade fair participation, international B2B, economic missions, digitalization, and market support). Selected companies will be eligible for grants up to €20,000 per PIF, under de minimis rules, through a public call to be launched in spring 2026.
