Luxembourg –La Scala Philharmonic is preparing for its first international engagements of 2026. Beginning March 16, the orchestra will embark on a grand tour of Europe’s musical capitals alongside its principal conductor Riccardo Chailly and French pianist Alexandre Kantorow. Kantorow was recently acclaimed on January 19 at Teatro alla Scala during the opening of the orchestra’s 44th concert season and has just been awarded the 2025 Premio Abbiati as best soloist. The orchestra will perform at the Philharmonie Luxembourg on March 16, the Elbphilharmonie on March 17, the Muziekgebouw Eindhoven on March 19, and deSingel on March 20. The tour will conclude in two of Europe’s most prestigious concert venues: the Philharmonie de Paris on March 21 and the Wiener Konzerthaus on March 22. The program features the same works presented for the season’s opening at La Scala: the Piano Concerto No. 3 by Sergei Prokofiev and Symphony No. 4 in F minor, Op. 36 by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Since his appointment in 2015, Chailly has led the orchestra in more than 120 performances abroad out of the more than 200 concerts he has conducted with the ensemble since 1991. His work has helped consolidate the orchestra’s artistic identity and strengthen its international profile, making it a regular presence in Europe’s leading concert halls. In September 2026, Chailly will once again lead the orchestra on an international tour, with stops including Santander, San Sebastián, Linz and Prague. (9colonne)
