Health: the Toma group opens a new center in Egypt

(17 febbraio 2016) “Toma’s arrival in Egypt is the result of an agreement with one of Egypt's greatest health workers - explains Dr. Federico Maggi, CEO, president and medical director of Toma - Our new adventure in this country is a source of pride for those that for many years devoted themselves with professionalism and passion to research, but it also represents an example of foresight, business acumen and courage that enable Italian excellences to be appreciated in the whole world.” Toma thus goes from Busto Arsizio (Varese) to Cairo to export its know-how, technology and the almost forty years of experience of medical diagnostics and genetic research. The institute just opened in the Egyptian capital a laboratory that will, in cooperation with the NSA Diagnostic Laboratory in Cairo and Professor Hisham Issa, carry out the diagnosis of genetic diseases: from non-invasive prenatal research to tumor genetics, adopting the most innovative techniques. The inaugural event saw the participation of university professors, ministers and former ministers of local health, and scientific experts from all North Africa. Opening remarks were made by Professor Sherif N. Amin, director general of University Hospital Cairo, while in representation of the Italian Government there was Pietro Tombaccini, Head of the Economic and Commercial Office of the Italian Embassy. “We continue in Egypt – underlines Maggi - the path we begun in Busto Arsizio and Naples, innovating the technology field and using state-of-the-art equipment for timely and qualitatively excellent analyses." ‎(Red)
