(22 February 2016) What are the points of contacts and affinity between James Joyce and Luigi Pirandello? Both authors and their respective works certainly transformed the modern narrative and theatrical genre. Karl Chircop, Italian language, literature and culture teacher at the Junior College of the University of Malta, contends in "Masks of modernity. Joyce and Pirandello" that the themes and narrative mechanisms that accompany the Joycean epiphany are the same of Pirandello's inner silence. Chircop will present the book (Cesati editore, 2015) on Thursday, February 25 at 6.30pm at the Italian Cultural of La Valletta, in the presence of the Ambassador of Italy in Malta, Giovanni Umberto De Vito. The meeting will see the participation of Professor Rino Caputo, University of Tor Vergata, and of Giuseppe Brincat and Giuseppe Pace-Asciak of the University of Malta. (Sip)
