(14 June 2018) Starting today until September 28th it will be possible to visit the exhibition "Raimonda Gaetani for the English Stage"curated by Maria Laudiero at the Italian Institute of Culture in London. The exhibition includes some of the most important works in the United Kingdom by Raimonda Gaetani, an internationally acclaimed costume and set designer nominated for the Laurence Olivier Award for the best costumes in 2003 for the production of Sonia Friedman's "Absolutely! Perhaps" directed by Franco Zeffirelli. The exhibition showcases part of Raimonda Gaetani's personal archive. The layout of the exhibition consists of a core of works made in the UK, highlighting Raimonda Gaetani's professional and personal relationship as a set and costume designer with Franco Zeffirelli, Eduardo De Filippo, Sir Laurence Olivier, Joan Plowright, and Ralph Richardson among others. The exhibition represents a dialogue between Italy and the United Kingdom, a bridge between Naples and the London, with the staging of great productions in the most prestigious English theatres which includes: Old Vic, National Theatre, Royal Opera House, English National Opera, Wyndham's Theater, Lyric Theatre. Through the use of her private archive, the exhibition intends to draw a portrait of the artist who played an important role in the global cultural scene. The exhibition will feature sketches of sets, costumes, drawings, paintings, notes, photographs, and reviews.
