From Monday to Friday, BigItalyFocus provides an information overview, ranged from development aid to made in Italy
(25 January 2019) The Italian Ambassador to Riyadh, Luca Ferrari, inaugurated the "Trame d'Acqua" design exhibition on 23 January with the Rector of Prince Sultan University, Dr. Ahmed bin Saleh Al Yamani and the Director of International Relations of La Triennale di Milano, Dr. Marco Sammicheli. The exhibition presents a survey of social and product design projects related to the various uses of water, divided into two sections. In the first one is a reconnaissance of objects related to the various uses of water (cultivating, condensing, purifying, quenching, filtering, washing, collecting, transporting, and conserving) designed and manufactured by international designers. Above all, projects have been selected to propose innovative solutions for the issue of scarcity of resources. In the second section, ad hoc items that reflect mainly on the primary function of quenching: a series of reinterpretations of the archetypal form of the jar, shown in relation to issues and needs of the country of origin of the designers involved with a particular attention to typical and traditional works, techniques, and materials.
