Expressing deep concern over the escalating tensions in the Middle East, President Meloni thanked King Abdullah for his leadership in the tireless pursuit of sustainable peace, sharing with him the absolute need to avoid regionalizing the conflict. The importance of urging all parties to exercise moderation and refrain from actions that could undermine dialogue was emphasized. The two leaders also agreed that the concrete risk of escalation makes it even more necessary to conclude the ceasefire negotiations in Gaza and secure the release of hostages. They reiterated their shared commitment to strengthening humanitarian assistance to the population of the Gaza Strip, including through the Food for Gaza initiative, and to continue working towards a sustainable and durable political solution.
