Kinshasa – The Italian Trade Agency (ICE), in collaboration with the industry associations Unacea and Anima Confindustria Meccanica Varia, along with Aisem and UcoMesa, is organizing Italy's participation in the DRC Mining Week 2025, which will take place in Lubumbashi from June 11 to 13. The DRC Mining Week is a key meeting point for both public and private players in the Congolese mining sector. The Democratic Republic of the Congo is one of the world's richest countries in mineral resources, holding 70% of the global reserves of columbite-tantalite (coltan) and 80% of the world's cobalt reserves, along with significant deposits of copper, lithium, rare earth elements, and other strategic minerals essential for the production of batteries for computers, mobile phones, and electric vehicles—crucial industries in today's energy and technological transition.
