Italy–Turkey Business Forum in Rome

Ankara – Infrastructure and connectivity, energy transition and circular economy, and advanced industry are the main focus areas of the panel discussions scheduled for the Italy–Turkey Business Forum, organized by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and ICE Agency. The event will take place in Rome on April 17 at the Parco dei Principi Hotel.

The forum will open with a plenary session featuring institutional speeches and in-depth panels on trade and investment opportunities between the two countries, as well as financial support for bilateral economic partnerships. Thematic panels will follow.

Economic relations between Italy and Turkey are strong, with stable trade exchange that reached a record 32.2 billion dollars in 2024. Italy is one of Ankara’s top partners—first in the Mediterranean area and second in the EU—with a significant presence across strategic sectors. Major Italian groups operate within Turkish industrial clusters, contributing to manufacturing and infrastructure development.

Italy also plays a key role in energy, finance, and defense, with excellent collaboration in these areas. Trade in metals and pharmaceutical products is also growing significantly. More than 1,600 Italian companies are currently active in Turkey, reinforcing a leading economic partnership in the Mediterranean. In 2024, Italian exports to Turkey rose by over 28%, reaching 19.3 billion dollars.
