New York – The Lazio Region delegation, led by President Francesco Rocca, has arrived in New York to kick off a three-day mission focused on innovation, business development, and international partnerships. The initiative is part of Lazio’s designation as 2025 Region of Honor by the National Italian American Foundation.
Accompanied by Vice President and Economic Development Councillor Roberta Angelilli and Rome Chamber of Commerce President Lorenzo Tagliavanti, Rocca and the delegation will engage in meetings, presentations, and networking activities with key institutions and stakeholders. These include the city’s official economic development agency (NYC EDC), Empire State Development, and the Consulate General of Italy, which on April 9 will host an event on open innovation in life sciences, urban tech, mobility, and aerospace.
One of the mission’s key goals is to showcase Lazio’s most innovative companies and startups—from pharmaceuticals to AI, aerospace to green tech. Participants include leading players like Farmindustria, Confapi, Confimprese, Aeroporti di Roma, Maire, Angelini Ventures, Alfasigma, and Almaviva. Through this initiative, Lazio aims to foster international collaborations, attract investments, and strengthen the presence of its small and medium-sized enterprises in global markets.
Twenty startups and innovative SMEs selected through a Lazio Innova call are also part of the mission, ready to present their expertise to U.S. investors and partners.
