Hanoi – The mission to Vietnam of Valentino Valentini, Deputy Minister for Enterprises and Made in Italy, concluded with the signing of ten memoranda between Italian and Vietnamese economic bodies and companies. The agreements were signed during the Italy–Vietnam Business Forum, organised by the Italian Trade Agency (ICE) and Confindustria in collaboration with the Vietnamese Foreign Investment Agency, and co-chaired by Valentini and Ho Sy Hung, Vietnam’s Deputy Minister of Finance. The event was attended by 63 Italian companies and over 300 Vietnamese businesses active in priority sectors such as machinery and agri-tech; energy transition and circular economy; infrastructure and transport; high technology and innovation. During the mission, Valentini held bilateral meetings with Vietnam’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Le Thi Thu Hang, and with Nguyen Hoang Long, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, to discuss “opportunities to further strengthen the already positive economic relations between Italy and Vietnam, in terms of both trade and investment,” Valentini commented. Together with Deputy Minister Long, Valentini also co-chaired a roundtable dedicated to the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) programme and to opportunities offered by Vietnam’s energy transition market, attended by a delegation of 15 Italian companies in the sector alongside major Vietnamese energy firms. Valentini subsequently visited the Piaggio plant in Phu Tho province and met, at the residence of Ambassador Marco Della Seta, with the companies participating in the Business Forum.
