Madrid – On Tuesday, September 23, the Italian Ambassador to Spain, Giuseppe Buccino Grimaldi, presented Tony Raful Tejada, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Dominican Republic to the Kingdom of Spain, with the insignia of Grand Officer of the Order of the Star of Italy. Formerly the Dominican Republic’s Ambassador to Italy from 2020 to 2025, Raful Tejada played a key role in strengthening cooperation between Italy and the Dominican Republic across multiple sectors.
“Ambassador Raful Tejada has distinguished himself through his effective and proactive work in fostering strong and lasting bilateral relations, consolidating strategic ties in areas such as healthcare, culture, legal diplomacy, and scientific cooperation between Italy and the Dominican Republic,” noted Ambassador Buccino Grimaldi while reading the citation for the honor.
