Madrid – On October 6 and 7, Madrid hosted two days of business meetings focused on Italy’s Abruzzo region. The initiative, aimed at promoting economic opportunities and opening Abruzzo’s businesses to the Spanish market, was organized by the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Spain and Casa Abruzzo, in collaboration with the Abruzzo Region, the Chieti-Pescara Chamber of Commerce, and the Gran Sasso d’Italia Chamber of Commerce.
Part of a broader effort to highlight Abruzzo in Spain during the Italian National Day celebrations, the initiative sought to strengthen ties with Spanish institutions and the business community, showcasing the region’s excellence in production and tourism. The event kicked off at the Italian Consulate in Madrid with a session introducing the region’s economic and business opportunities, particularly in the agri-food, tourism, and manufacturing sectors.
Later, the CCIS headquarters hosted a series of B2B meetings between eight Abruzzo-based food and beverage companies and selected Spanish buyers—distributors, importers, and operators in catering and retail—aimed at opening new channels for high-quality products such as wines, spirits, pasta, artisanal sweets, and regional specialties. Simultaneously, the Abruzzo delegation met with Invest in Spain and the Madrid Chamber of Commerce to explore new cooperation opportunities and investment projects. The mission concluded with visits to the Madrid Food Cluster and the Vinos de Madrid association, providing an opportunity to share experiences and best practices between the two regions.
