From Monday to Friday, BigItalyFocus provides an information overview, ranged from development aid to made in Italy
Following the country’s unification, the island produced an extraordinary generation of literary masters, from Verga to Nobel laureates Pirandello and Quasimodo, from Tomasi di Lampedusa to Vittorini and Sciascia, culminating in Andrea Camilleri.
Camilleri’s works offer sharp, insightful perspectives that transcend the island’s borders, addressing political and cultural themes through the investigations of the famous Commissario Montalbano.
On the centenary of Camilleri’s birth, the Italian Embassy in Singapore will host a seminar as part of the Italian Language Week. The seminar, conducted in Italian by Professor Mauro Novelli of the University of Milan in collaboration with the Andrea Camilleri Foundation, will take place on Saturday, November 1, from 10:00 to 12:00 in the Sala Italia of the Embassy.
