Koper (Capodistria) – The 62nd edition of the Seminar on Italian Language and Culture is currently underway in Koper, aimed at teachers from Italian elementary and upper secondary schools in Slovenia.
The event is organized by the Popular University of Trieste, in collaboration with the Consulate General of Italy in Koper, the Institute of Education and Training of the Republic of Slovenia, and the Coastal Self-Governing Community of the Italian Nationality of Koper.
“Today, in a context of major technological and social transformations, we aim to offer concrete tools for a more conscious education — open to innovation yet rooted in the values of our shared cultural identity,” said Edvino Jerian, President of the Popular University of Trieste.
The first day of the seminar focused on ‘Artificial Intelligence and Teaching: Using Generative AI for Texts, Storytelling, Quizzes, Presentations, Maps, and Videos,’ with presentations by Pierfranco Ravotto and Mara Masseroni. They explored the potential and challenges of tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, MS Copilot, Claude, NotebookLM, Canva, and EdPuzzle in educational contexts.
The second day featured a Lectio Magistralis by Loredana Czerwinsky Domenis, dedicated to managing problematic behavior in the classroom. Two parallel workshops followed: “Working with Historical Sources” (led by Tullia Catalan) and “Curricula and Didactic Design: Principles, Examples, and Challenges of Learning Units” (by Mario Castoldi).
