Monaco – The Società Dante Alighieri in Monaco presents the documentary directed by Marco Spagnoli, Pino Daniele – Nero a metà. The screening will take place on Thursday, November 20 at 6:30 pm at the Théâtre des Variétés in Monaco.
The film retraces the early years of Pino Daniele’s career through the eyes of Stefano Senardi, a longtime friend and the legendary producer of the late artist, who passed away in 2015 at just 59 years old. Senardi, who will attend the event alongside journalist Daniele Doglio, reconstructs in the documentary the story of an artist who effortlessly blended different musical styles.
Through a series of interviews with friends and collaborators, the film celebrates Daniele’s personality, achievements, love for the guitar and blues, devotion to Naples, and admiration for musicians such as James Senese. Contributors to the documentary include Enzo Avitabile, Tony Cercola, Tullio De Piscopo, Teresa De Sio, Tony Esposito, Enzo Gragnaniello, Pietra Montecorvino, James Senese, and Fausta Vetere, all of whom reflect on his extraordinary journey as a Neapolitan artist with a global soul.
