Italy’s Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) has unveiled a special logo to mark the tenth anniversary of its founding. The new #AICS10 emblem will accompany the agency’s activities throughout 2026, highlighting a decade of work in international development.
Speaking at the launch, AICS Director Marco Riccardo Rusconi described the anniversary as a chance to reflect on the agency’s growth and its role as a technical hub of excellence for Italian development cooperation. Over the past ten years, he said, AICS has brought together a wide range of actors - from civil society organisations and universities to local authorities and the private sector - in line with the framework set out by Italian law.
Rusconi also thanked the agency’s staff and partners for their commitment, noting that their work helps promote peace, justice and equal partnerships between countries, as outlined in Italy’s 2014 law on international cooperation.
Headquartered in Rome and Florence and supported by a network of 20 offices abroad, AICS began operating on 1 January 2016 under the guidance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Its mission, as stated on its website, is to align Italy more closely with major European and international partners while responding to the need for a more professional, innovative and flexible approach to development in a rapidly changing global environment.
