Osaka – On January 13, in Tarui, Gifu Prefecture, Japan, a new industrial joint venture, COMTESCO, was officially launched, resulting from a strategic partnership between Italian Comer Industries and Japanese Nabtesco Corporation.
The ceremony was attended by Italian Consul General Filippo Manara, who highlighted the strategic importance of the project, combining Italian excellence in advanced mechatronics and systems integration with Japanese expertise in hydraulic technologies.
The agreement involves Comer Industries acquiring 70% of the new company, formed following the transfer of Nabtesco’s Hydraulic Equipment division, with the remaining 30% retained by the Japanese partner. The deal is valued at 14.2 billion yen and represents a long-term investment.
The Hydraulic Equipment division produces high-end hydraulic systems for industrial applications, with facilities in Japan, China, and Thailand, employing a total of approximately 800 people worldwide.
