Prague – A two-day event dedicated to promoting tourism in Sardinia concluded in Prague. The initiative was organized by the Czech tour operator Sardegna Travel, led by Martina and Antonio Costantino, in collaboration with the Autonomous Region of Sardinia and with the support of the Italian Embassy in Prague, the Italian Cultural Institute, and the Italian-Czech Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Twentyfive Sardinian operators took part at the headquarters of CAMIC in B2B sessions with around thirty industry representatives from Bulgaria, Denmark, Poland, the Czech Republic, Romania, and Sweden. Discussions focused on sustainable travel, multi-theme experiences, and expanding tourism beyond traditional seasonal patterns. Special attention was given to the need to offer international visitors alternatives to mass tourism through themed travel experiences centered on wellness, sports, culture, food and wine, and folk traditions. On the centenary of Grazia Deledda’s Nobel Prize, the workshop included a cultural segment dedicated to the Nuoro-born writer, the first and only Italian woman to receive the Swedish Academy’s highest recognition in literature. The event featured an evening at the Boccaccio Theater of the Grand Hotel Bohemia, where Italian chef Riccardo Lucque presented culinary excellences inspired by the author’s works. Also speaking was essayist and literary critic Neria De Giovanni, one of the world’s leading experts on Deledda, who discussed the writer’s life and works. Among the evening’s highlights were the presentation of the Czech and English translation of the monologue from Marianna Sirca, drawn from “Donne di Grazia”; a short theatrical tribute by renowned Czech actress Lenka Termerova; and performances of selected pieces for transverse flute by Elisa Ceravola, who also accompanied the screening of a silent film on Deledda-themed itineraries provided by the Humanitarian Society of Cagliari.
