Quito – Gabriela Sommerfeld, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility of Ecuador, presented the honor of Commander of the Order of Merit of the Republic to Italian magistrate Giovanni Tartaglia Polcini during a ceremony at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Quito. The President of the Republic, Daniel Noboa, awarded this high distinction to Tartaglia Polcini, Legal Adviser at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Deputy Director of the EL PACCTO 2.0 Program, recognizing him as “one of the most influential figures in the global fight against corruption, transnational organized crime, and financial laundering,” and for his commitment to “strengthening international cooperation in criminal justice and the fight against organized crime.” The ceremony was also attended by the Italian Ambassador to Ecuador, Giovanni Davoli, who highlighted Tartaglia Polcini’s pivotal role in promoting the activities of Italian legal diplomacy in Ecuador.
