Tokyo – The agri-food sector of Emilia-Romagna brings the supply chains of the Food Valley to Tokyo. Until March 13, the region is taking part in Foodex Japan 2026, the international food and beverage exhibition. For the first time, Emilia-Romagna is participating with a technical delegation and its own regional stand at the Tokyo Big Sight, alongside 30 companies, three food consortia and two protection consortia representing the main supply chains of the Food Valley. This presence brings the quality of regional products to Asia and strengthens the international promotion of Emilia-Romagna’s agri-food system. During the fair, the stand is hosting 15 events – including cooking shows, themed talks, tastings and networking sessions – organized in collaboration with Casa Artusi and involving Italian and Japanese chefs. The initiative aims to highlight the quality and identity of the region’s supply chains, its PDO and PGI products, and to strengthen their presence in the Japanese market and across Asia. “The participation of a technical delegation from Emilia-Romagna at Foodex Japan,” said the regional Councillor for Agriculture and Agri-food Alessio Mammi, “represents an important step in the internationalization strategy of our agri-food supply chains. Japan is a highly valuable market, particularly attentive to quality, food safety, traceability and the link between product and territory. The Region is bringing to Tokyo a system made up of companies, consortia and cooperatives that invest every day in innovation, sustainability and production safety, enhancing a unique heritage such as our 45 PDO and PGI products.” (9colonne)
