New Delhi – The institutional visit to India by Roberto Tottoli, Rector of the University of Naples “L’Orientale,” has concluded. The mission, which took place from March 30 to April 4, strengthened academic and cultural relations with universities, institutions, and counterparts in the Indian context. During the visit, the Rector met with Antonio Bartoli, Italian Ambassador to India, along with representatives of the Embassy in New Delhi. Key moments included a visit to Jindal Global University and a meeting with Raj C. Kumar. The mission was accompanied by intense scientific and outreach activities. The Rector delivered several lectures, including “The Qur’an in modern age Europe,” “Multiculturalism in Europe and the challenges associated with it” at the India International Centre, and “Islamic Modernism in the 21st century: West Asia and Beyond” at Jawaharlal Nehru University. Institutional meetings also included Syed Ahmed Bukhari, Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid, representatives of the Archaeological Survey of India, and the Aga Khan Trust for Culture. He also held talks with Neena Malhotra of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs. The visit concluded with the lecture “Islamic Heritage in Italy and Europe” at the auditorium of Humayun’s Tomb Museum. (9colonne)
