New York – The Italian Cultural Institute in New York presents the first edition of MedFilm Festival New York, an event dedicated to cinema and the cultures of the Mediterranean. The pilot program, directed by Ginella Vocca and curated by Alessandro Zoppo, brings a selection of nine films – feature-length and short – over three days, offering some of the most significant works from the festival’s recent history. The films explore stories, identities, and contemporary visions of the Mediterranean region, promoting dialogue and cultural exchange. The program includes Fallen Houses by Gianluca Abbate, The Voice of Others by Fatima Kaci, Burning Days by Emin Alper, Remains by Fabio Bobbio, Warsha by Dania Bdeir, My Father’s Diaries by Ado Hasanović, First Times by Giulia Cosentino and Perla Sardella, On the Edge by Sahar El Echi, and The Last Queen by Adila Bendimerad and Damien Ounouri.
