On May 29, the legendary 1000 Miglia made its stop in Switzerland, bringing the atmosphere of Italy’s iconic historic car race to the city of Lucerne. For the occasion, the Swiss Museum of Transport (Verkehrshaus) hosted “1000 Miglia Warm Up Switzerland,” a special event dedicated to the history and cultural legacy of the famous competition, often described as “the most beautiful race in the world.” The program began with the inauguration of the photographic exhibition “1000 Miglia: The Story of the Most Beautiful Race in the World”, followed by the arrival of drivers and their historic vehicles at the museum. The initiative was organized by the Italian Cultural Institute of Zurich in collaboration with Scuderia Classiche GmbH, 1000 Miglia, the Italian Consulate General in Zurich, and ICE Bern. Blending motorsport heritage, Italian design, and automotive culture, the event offered Swiss audiences an opportunity to experience one of Italy’s most celebrated traditions up close.
