New York – The finest products of authentic Italian cuisine — recognized as part of UNESCO's cultural heritage — and the sector's resilience in the face of tariffs and food counterfeiting are at the heart of the participation of Coldiretti, Campagna Amica, and Filiera Italia at the Summer Fancy Food Show in New York. Beginning on Sunday, June 28, the organizations will host a packed program of events featuring talks, tastings, cooking demonstrations and masterclasses celebrating Italy's food excellence, from wines and cheeses to cured meats and pasta. The opening event will take place at 12:30 p.m. at the Coldiretti Theatre, with Luigi Scordamaglia, CEO of Filiera Italia and Head of Markets, Internationalization and European Policies at Coldiretti, and Cristina Brizzolari, President of Coldiretti Piemonte. Joining the inaugural meeting will be Italian Minister of Agriculture Francesco Lollobrigida, Italian Ambassador Marco Peronaci, ICE President Matteo Zoppas, Domenico Praticò, professor of neuropathology and director of the Alzheimer's Center, and Paolo De Castro, President of Filiera Italia. On Monday, June 29, the spotlight will turn to the Italian food model, combining taste, health and sustainability, with the event "Beyond Diets", beginning at 12:30 p.m. at the Coldiretti Theatre and organized in collaboration with I Love Italian Food. Participants will include Alessandro Schiatti, President of the 100% Italian Institute; Luigi Scordamaglia; Cesare Casella, one of the leading ambassadors of Italian cuisine in the United States; Robert Graham, physician, chef and founder of Fresh Med NYC; Gennaro Esposito, the two-Michelin-starred chef; and Chiara Segrè, Head of Scientific Supervision at the Umberto Veronesi Foundation. The discussion will be moderated by author and journalist Andrew Cotto. During the event, Coldiretti and Ixè will also unveil the findings of a new survey on the perception of Italian cuisine in the United States. (9colonne)
