Guadalajara – Latin American publishing meets Italian publishing: ahead of Italy’s role as Guest of Honour at the Guadalajara International Book Fair, taking place from 28 November to 6 December, seven Mexican and Argentine publishers will be in Milan on 30 June and 1 July for a fellowship programme. The visit will take them to publishing houses and allow them to engage with key figures in the Italian book sector. The seven professionals are Hernán López Winne (Ediciones Godot, Argentina), Samary Palomares (editorial director for Social Sciences at Fondo de Cultura Económica México), Carmina Rufrancos (fiction editor at Planeta México), Eduardo Rabasa (editorial director of Sexto Piso, Mexico), Leonora Djament (editorial director of Eterna Cadencia, Argentina), Pablo de la Vega (director of Base Tres, Mexico), and Alejandra Quiroz (editor at Leetra, Mexico). The programme includes visits to the Milan headquarters of Giunti Editore, Gruppo Feltrinelli and Fondazione Feltrinelli, Gruppo Mondadori, Gruppo editoriale Mauri Spagnol, Mimesis, Terre di Mezzo, and the Verso bookshop. The fellowship “Towards Guadalajara 2026 – Publishers Networking Programme” is organised by the Italian Publishers Association and the Italian Trade Agency (ICE), as part of Italy’s role as Guest of Honour at the Guadalajara International Book Fair 2026. The project is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Italian Embassy in Mexico, the Italian Cultural Institute in Mexico City, the Ministry of Culture, its Directorate-General for Libraries and Cultural Institutes, the Centre for Books and Reading, and ICE, in collaboration with the Italian Publishers Association.
